With summer upon us, you might be wondering how you can keep your carpets clean. At Insta Carpet, we have the tips and tricks to help keep your carpet clean. Plus, if you are looking to install a carpet in North Shore, Auckland, we can assist with this as well!
So, how can you keep your carpet clean this summer?
Regular Maintenance
It would be worthwhile increasing how often you vacuum your carpets – we recommend at least once a week (possibly more) to keep your carpets looking speckless. A great tip to keep odours away is to sprinkle bicarbonate of soda over the carpet, leaving it to rest for a bit, before vacuuming.
Stain Prevention
Summer will be filled with cold drinks and ice cream, and this can lead to spills on the carpet. As soon as something is spilled on the carpet, you need to be proactive and blot the spill immediately. This can reduce the likelihood of it becoming a stain. Wipes are useful to have, or you can use a combination of liquid dish soap and warm water.
No Shoes
Without a doubt, you and your family could spend a lot of time outside during the summer. This can lead to dirty shoes and potentially dirty carpets. To prevent this, you should consider enforcing a no-shoes policy so that outside dirt and grime don’t transfer onto your carpet. A shoe rack by the front door is a great way to encourage people to take their shoes off before stepping foot inside the house!
Doormats
If you don’t already have one, a doormat is an excellent way to help remove some of the dirt from shoes before someone enters your home. Remind your children to use the doormat to wipe the bottom of their shoes before going inside and you’ll see significantly less dirt being carried into your home and carpet.
